The Finest Hours (2016)

In February of 1952, one of the worst storms to ever hit the East Coast struck New England, damaging an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod and literally ripping it in half. On a small lifeboat faced with frigid temperatures and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard set out to rescue the more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel.

The Finest Hours sesungguhnya punya cukup bekal untuk menjadi tontonan menarik, apalagi ketika melebeli dirinya sebagai sebuah disaster movie yang diangkat dari peristiwa nyata. Ya, kisah heroik para penjaga pantai Amerika pemberani dalam usaha mereka menyelamatkan lebih dari 30 awak kapal tanker minyak SS Pendleton yang terbelah dua karena di hantam badai nor’easter di lepas pantai New England 64 tahun silam dengan hanya bermodal kapal motor boat penyelamat kecil; CG 36500 mestinya bisa menjadi sajian besar yang menggugah emosi, sayang ia tidak mampu bercerita dengan baik.
