Self/less lalu berbelok menjadi film aksi-thriller standar, saat Edwards kabur bersama istri dan anak dari pemilik tubuh sebelumnya (yang ternyata mantan tentara), sementara dikejar oleh antek-antek Albright dengan alasan yang sedikit bias. Film ini melepaskan konsep filosofisnya dan menggantinya dengan adegan mobil terbalik, adu tembakan, serta flamethrower. Ada cukup plot twist yang disajikan. Ini juga terasa hambar karena repetitif dan kita tak pernah dibuat terikat dengan karakternya sejak awal.
