Deadpool (2016)

This is the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Review:

Meski terlihat konyol dan tidak serius, Miller tidak pernah membuat Deadpool kehilangan sentuhan superhero yang keren. Setiap aksi Deadpool terlihat menawan dengan balutan spesial efek dan beberapa slowmotion yang meski tidak sampai terlalu bombastis karena keterbatasan biaya produksi namun hasilnya bisa tepat sasaran dan tidak berlebihan, belum saya menyebutkan sisi kebrutalan yang juga sukses diekspos Miller dengan penuh gaya. Ryan Reynolds adalah alasan mengapa karakter Deadpool begitu hidup dan begitu cerewet. Dari menit pertama ia seperti tidak berhenti ngoceh di berbagai situasi yang sebenarnya termasuk kasual seperti di dalam taksi, laundry atau santai di rumah bersama temannya; seorang wanita tua buta. Reynolds Membombardir penontonnya dengan rentetan one-liner, ejekan-ejekan, dan metafora aneh yang sedikit banyak sudah membantu menutupi kekurangan pada plotnya yang sebenarnya klise untuk ukuran film superhero, termasuk juga kehadiran villain yang tidak hebat-hebat banget.
